My Memories of Kirk Douglas

Bob Berkowitz wrote the following blog upon learning of the passing of Icon Kirk Douglas.  I wanted to share it with you.
“With the passing of this Hollywood Icon,  I remember the day I spent with him  and his lovely wife Anne back in the 1980’s.
I was working to help my mentor Jay Weiss who was being honored by  the Weitzman Institute of Science in Israel.
Founded in 1934 and located in Rehovot, Israel, south of Tel Aviv, The Weitzman Institute is a world leading research institution in natural and exact sciences.
It has a long history of investigation and discovery.   Their basic mission is advancing science.
It educates a large portion of Israel’s scientific leadership and helps  advance science literacy in school.
Kirk and Jay were close friends and spent a lot of time socially together with their wives Renee and Anne.
Both Jay Weiss and Kirk Douglas greatly  supported the extraordinary work of this remarkable research institute.
I was honored to make a film tribute and shoot a segment with Kirk and Anne in their beautiful home in LA.  I worked with Anne to set up the shoot and  to put together an LA crew.
It was a pleasure to meet and work with him.  Kirk  was a gentleman and a consummate professional.”

Multivision Creates Presentation at Wine Spectator Impact Conference

It was at New York City’s famous Pierre Hotel last week that leaders in the spirits and wine industry from all over the world convened for the 41st Wine Spectator Impact Conference. Here, the worlds’ top brands and distributors met and exchanged ideas and showcased the latest marketing concepts.

Presentations by Pernod Ricard, Suntory, Kendall Jackson and others were featured at the exclusive conference hosted by famed publisher Marvin Shanken.

For the third time in 15 years Multivision was asked to help create and stage the presentation for Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits, the largest wine and spirits wholesaler in the USA.

“We worked with Chairman Harvey Chaplin in 2003,  CEO Wayne Chaplin in 2009, and again this year, as Wayne addressed this amazing assembly of  industry leaders on Distribution in the USA,” explains Bob Berkowitz, Multivision president.

Multivision, along with industry expert David Lincoln Ross (former editor of Wine Spectator), created a presentation to explain the recent joining of Southern Wine and Spirits (Miami) and Glazer’s Distributors ( Dallas), resulting in an organization that does business in 44 U.S. states, Canada and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Berkowitz explains, “We put in fun, humor and lots of animation and graphics in a fully-animated 19-minute Keynote presentation with 60 video clips. We wanted it to keep moving and really showcase the scope of the growth that has been part of Southern in the last year. They have been our clients for over 30 years now, and we are so excited to be along for their ride to a national footprint. Wayne knocked it out of the park.  It is very exciting for us as well to be part of that growth.”

Multivision Visualizes Transit in Miami-Dade for MDX

Not many people understand that when they pay a toll at one of five expressways in Greater Miami that have the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX) sign on them, they are also helping to invest in the transportation of the future for the community.
When our friends at Bermello Ajamil (B & A) asked us to simplify and explain how tolls and the MDX system work, we realized we didn’t understand it either.
With B & A finishing the strategic plan for transit for Miami-Dade, they knew that a video
needed to be produced to tell the story in 4 minutes.

This was no easy task, but we got it done. Thanks to the Multivision crew and the great work of Actor Eduardo Ramos (the spokesperson we cast), we created a video that shows where toll money goes, and how MDX is helping deal with the transportation issues of the community.
We were so excited to be tasked with this project, and we hope it helps to do the job. Multivision helps keep Miami moving!
